Meat á la Mode by Kristina Von Kroug

Inspired by family traditions as well as by historical recipes and cooking techniques, Meat á la Mode puts a new twist on classic comfort food. My meat pies and savory ice creams explore the flavors of more rarely used game meats such as rabbit, oxtail, or alligator in addition to serving up childhood favorites like chicken noodle soup or macaroni and cheese -- all in pie form! Meat á la Mode strives to create a journey of taste encased in a golden, flaky crust.

Meat á la Mode's unique meat pies entice the discerning carnivore with mouth-watering flavor combinations, two types of pastry, and a decadent edible gold topping.

Keep watching -- I'm working hard to build a little emPIEre...

Haunted with Flaaaaavor!

Pastry preparation for the weekend festivities has begun at Meat á la Mode.

The official flavors for the Halloween Ho-Down are:
-Oxtail with Dill
-Meatloaf
-Caprese
-Chicken Noodle (For those of you who missed the chance to snag a flu shot, this is the next best thing -- it is a cure-all, and totally painless...)

Yeaaaaahhhhh Boooyyeeee!

Come support MALM and taste some pie this Saturday at Disjecta. If I am to fund all of the hoop jumping necessary to become legit in the eyes of this wonderful county; I am going to need all the support I can get. Taste pie, have a blast, and fund a slice of The Dream...

Winnie Chou is an amazing graphic designer and photographer (See above/pie portraits) who has really captured my pie visions, she is fast and immensely creative -- AND moving to PDX -- so hire/contact her here: www.WinnDesigns.com

Remember the á la Mode...!

I want to thank the creators of the Portland Halloween Bazaar for passing out a ton of my little mini meat pies to the masses -- That well-received pie was Pork Chop and Applesauce and would be fantastically accompanied by my Apple-Thyme-Pecan ice cream -- The savory ice cream partner to my Pork Chop Pie is a little taste of home-cooked heaven, even with the introduction of this crisp fall air... Eat up, my little meat pie lovers...
