Inspired by family traditions as well as by historical recipes and cooking techniques, Meat á la Mode puts a new twist on classic comfort food. My meat pies and savory ice creams explore the flavors of more rarely used game meats such as rabbit, oxtail, or alligator in addition to serving up childhood favorites like chicken noodle soup or macaroni and cheese -- all in pie form! Meat á la Mode strives to create a journey of taste encased in a golden, flaky crust.

Thank You, Portland Halloween Bazaar & Ho-Down!


Thank you to all who came to have a taste of Meat á la Mode Pies this Halloween from noon to 4 p.m. in the Kenton neighborhood. The people of the Portland Halloween Bazaar, especially Jack and Jayne, created an amazing event for families all over Portland.

Hundreds of meaty morsels were devoured within minutes, and the satisfied sighs of the pie patrons could be heard throughout the evening...


I would love to hear what everyone thought of my pies! Which flavor did you like the best? What fillings would you like to see in the future?


Many thanks again to all who showed up to support a gal and a dream, and to all those who made the event possible -- especially Jack and Jayne, Tim Ravins, Winnie Chou, my costume designer Melissa DeMerit, The Dandy Fop (pictured below), and Mjr. Nelson for all the support!
