Meat á la Mode by Kristina Von Kroug

Inspired by family traditions as well as by historical recipes and cooking techniques, Meat á la Mode puts a new twist on classic comfort food. My meat pies and savory ice creams explore the flavors of more rarely used game meats such as rabbit, oxtail, or alligator in addition to serving up childhood favorites like chicken noodle soup or macaroni and cheese -- all in pie form! Meat á la Mode strives to create a journey of taste encased in a golden, flaky crust.

Meat á la Mode's unique meat pies entice the discerning carnivore with mouth-watering flavor combinations, two types of pastry, and a decadent edible gold topping.

Keep watching -- I'm working hard to build a little emPIEre...

The Busy Season -or- On this most festivus of seasons... We give thanks for our Pie-Hard fans!

For the last couple of years I have been sharing my pies with a wider audience than just my family and friends, and it has been so incredibly rewarding. I've found many new friends and meat lovers while sharing my pies at farmers markets, parties, events, fundraisers, through blogging, and even home delivery! I've worked to provide a melange of meats in pie form -- from bunny to buffalo, chicken to chorizo, ham to haggis, Thanksgiving Dinner to a fabulous Dickensian Christmas -- How's your mind? Blown?!?

How's your appetite? Ready for something new and exciting?

So is Meat a la Mode.

There are three really big projects that Meat a la Mode is working on and we will share at least a couple of them very soon (cross your fingers with us on the third!). We have had an incredibly successful year and look forward to the crazy-busy holiday pie season as well as an amazing 2011 full of continued growth & changes!

Support from our friends, fans, foodies, Meatniks™ and Pie-Hards is so appreciated and so necessary to keep us moving along. Please share us with the world by spreading the news about our blog, twitter (@meatalamode), facebook page, and via more avenues soon to come! Sharing is caring, and your love fuels us to keep on making the delicious pies you know and love, in addition to our ever-growing list of specialty items!

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us thus far and to those who took our recent poll. All of your comments, opinions, emails, praises, and random thoughts are SO helpful to us -- keep 'em coming... So will we!

Though imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, pale imitations and shameless recipe and blog plagiarism around town just makes me go, "ish!"

Flattery aside, Meat a la Mode is working on something BIG...Something that cannot be compared to anything...Anywhere.

Something SO GREAT that no one shall be able to resist it's awesome POWER... Mere mortals beware... The Pie Gods have spoken...and they are #%@&ing hungry!
